Good Shepherd Clinic’s 8th Annual Tomato Sandwich Party

By Mike Mead

The Good Shepherd Clinic’s eighth annual Tomato Sandwich Party fund raiser in August will be moving to a new location for 2010. L.C. Thomas, Board of Directors Chairman for the Clinic, recently announced that the City of Morrow has offered to sponsor this year’s TSP at its new Morrow Center location at Southlake Mall.

The Morrow Center, Georgia’s newest IACC and Marriott Level Center, opened late last year in the old Macy’s location at Southlake Mall. The 28,000 square-foot facility features a 4,300 square-foot ballroom and various size meeting rooms, as well as plenty of free parking.

“We are extremely grateful to the City of Morrow in allowing us full access to their brand new facility,” said Thomas. “The Morrow Center will give us ample space to hold our Tomato Sandwich Party as we will also be celebrating the Clinic’s 10th anniversary.”

The annual Clinic fund raiser originated eight years ago in the back yard of Jim and Martha Wood’s home. Four years ago, the Tomato Sandwich Party moved to a larger space at the First Baptist Church of Morrow.

“Attendees to this year’s Tomato Sandwich Party will have plenty of space to enjoy their tomato sandwiches as well as the local entertainment,” said Thomas. “This will also give folks who have not been to the Morrow Center the opportunity to experience this grand facility.” This year’s Tomato Sandwich Party is scheduled for Saturday, August 7 from 5-8 p.m. If you would like to make a food donation, or volunteer to work the vent, please contact the Clinic.
